Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 4 August 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Wine Cellar Companion (the "Service"), a wine cellar inventory application provided by Ideact Svenska AB, a company registered in Sweden ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or continuing to use the Service, you enter into an agreement with Ideact Svenska AB and agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.
1. The Service
Wine Cellar Companion lets you configure wine fridges, zones and shelves, register bottles, photograph labels and barcodes for automatic recognition and valuation, and share a collection with other people depending on your plan. Features available to you depend on the plan you have purchased.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be of legal age in your country to enter into this agreement. If you accept these terms on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping it up to date, keeping your login credentials confidential, and for all activity that takes place under your account.
3. Licence and acceptable use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within the scope of your selected plan. You must not misuse the Service. In particular, you must not:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or for fraud, spam or abuse;
- upload content that infringes the intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
- interfere with the security or integrity of the Service, including introducing malware, probing or scanning systems, or scraping data;
- reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the Service, or circumvent technical limits;
- attempt to access accounts, collections or data that do not belong to you.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the wine data, photographs and notes you add to the Service. You grant us a limited licence to host, store and process that content solely in order to provide the Service to you, including sending label and fridge photographs to our recognition providers for analysis.
5. Intellectual property
We retain all ownership of the Service and its intellectual property, including the software, design, documentation and branding. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you.
6. Valuations and recognition results
Wine identification, tasting information and valuations are generated automatically from public sources and machine learning models. They may be incomplete or inaccurate and are provided for general information only. They are not appraisals, insurance valuations or investment advice, and you should verify important figures independently before relying on them.
7. Service availability
We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. Maintenance, updates and events outside our reasonable control may cause interruptions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
8. Payments, subscriptions and taxes
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel or change your plan at any time in the app under Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and you keep access until then.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. See also our Refund Policy.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay for your plan, create a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously violate our acceptable use rules. You may stop using the Service at any time. After termination you will have a reasonable period to export your collection data before it is deleted.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these terms.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. We will publish the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
12. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by Swedish law, and the courts of Sweden have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence.
